Who is this runner at Berea nationals? USATF Mother Ship needs ID
USATF is circulating the photo below, asking: Who he? Actually the query from Jared Slinde, USATF communications manager, in Indianapolis was: “We are attempting to identify a photo from USA Masters this year for inclusion in our Fast Forward magazine. Can you identify this athlete?” I thought: What an easy question! Just look up his bib number in the entries. (They are listed in results.) But Jared apparently ran into the same problem I did: I can’t find anyone in his 40s or 50s with a number ending in 33 that ran a middle distance. So can you folks help?

Kerry Sloan and John McKenzie, pentathlon M45.
Ditto Weia ! What prize do we win ?
Damn, I was too slow. I’ve competed against both in Pents.
Bingo, Weia! You win USATF’s appreciation!
I overlooked the pentathlon:

Sergeant First Class (US Army retired) Kerry Sloan followed by John McKenzie; that was easy. Oh, wait, am I too late?
I have something to sell: USATF’s appreciation. Bids?
I simply took the entry list, looked for 587 and in which event 587 combined with a colleague with x33. Three minutes work at most.
Kerry Sloan and John McKenzie are two of the nicest guys you could ever meet! Now, the whole world will know them by face as well as by name. Next up will be to meet these two fine gentlemen, believe me, you won’t be disappointed.
I agree with Derek. Have known Kerry for many years, even before his retirement. A great guy.
USATF should have recognized Kerry from the USATF TV ad in which he was featured several years ago.
Almost looks strong enough to take on Harry AA?
Should have run third for the US yesterday!
I know both John and Kerry. I ate dinner with John the final day of Nationals at Oliver Garden. They will get a kick out of this. They usually compete in the pentathlon.
Happy 15th Anniversary John!!
Yep, it’s me!!! (Raven)
I was able to recognize Coach Sloan quicker than Bolt reacted in the 100 at Worlds!
Thats my 4 x 100 silver metalist partner… up front!
