WMA posts YouTube video on doping drill ahead of indoor worlds

Indoor worlds starts April 3 in Jyväskylä, Finland, and WMA has linked to a video on drug-testing (below). It’s a little bit intelligence-insulting (with cheesy cutout animation). But what the hell. It’s understood in all languages. The meet site lists entries by country. A couple dozen from the United States will face thousands from Europe, especially the host Finns and Germany. Lots of Russians, too. You can check who’s in every event, too. WMA also says: “All competitors are kindly requested to check the time table of WMACI in Jyväskylä because of a slight revision.” Go get ’em, Yanks!

Here’s a USATF press release on the meet:

Unrelated, but does anybody has the link for the pictures from Bloomington?

  2. Ken Stone - March 29, 2012

Yeah, somebody else asked me about the official photographer at nationals. I suggested they write Robert Thomas. He’s at rjttrack@hotmail.com.

I noticed on the World Championships webpage that they are offering live streaming coverage for 5 Euro’s per day, or 20 Euro’s for the entire event.

Above is the link. Might be fun to watch. Wish I were going.

Parting company with you on the cheesy presentation part. I would hire the presentation’s art director in an instant, following a clean doping test of course. Creative and informative.

Courtland. That Jyväskylä live streaming is interesting. But you have to obtain the tickets on the spot at Jyväskylä from the Technical Information Center? Seems strange. Or have I missed something?

We can obtain and pay for the Jyväskylä live streaming from abroad. I asked Jyväskylä. Mikko Pajunen
General Secretary helpfully responded: Yes, with email, and payment with paypal. Send message to
    media.wma2012@jkl.fi

WMA Jylväskylä live streaming. The instructions for paying from abroad and accessing the live streaming are now on the updated Jyväskylä Live! url: http://wma2012.jyvaskyla.fi/live

I have taken the plunge, followed the instructions and paid my Euro 20 for the entire event via PayPal. Next Jyväskylä will send me my access code to follow the live streaming.

The Live Streaming is a good initiative. I will invite around some of my Swedish training friends for WMA 2012Jyväskylä Live featuring Mattias Sunneborn M40 60m, 200m, LJ, Pentathlon, Anders Ohlsson M55 LJ, Sture Holmberg M60 LJ, Tor Trondset M75 400m, Carl Erik Särndal M70 HJ, Guido Mueller M70 60m-400m, Arno Hamaekers M70 60m, Terry Bisset M65 400m, David Elderfield M55 400m, etc, etc…. (including maybe a few Yanks and others), beer and Chinese or pizza!

OK. I have received my WMA Live Streaming code and I am all set for tomorrow.
