World-record M35 relayist launches REgel for muscle soreness

Thachvu “Thac” Ho, who helped an American M35 team set a W35 world record in the 4×1 at Sacramento worlds, has announced the launch of a product he hopes will help his fellow masters. He calls it REgel, “which is a new topical gel that helps relieve pain, repair injuries, and recover from workouts faster,” says this news release. “Always injured in college, Thachvu was frustrated with all the muscle rubs with camphor/menthol that just masked the pain. ‘I wanted to create a product that used natural ingredients to help relieve muscle soreness & injuries but did not contain Performance Enhancing Drugs.'” The product website tells more. Best of luck, Thac!

That’s Thac (second from right) celebrating 41.89 WR at Sacramento worlds.

Oh… could I ever use some of that! This old body is struggling to do all I ask of it.

    FedEx me a gallon!

Ken, if you’re going to mention products sold by master’s athletes, how ’bout a mention of Invisible Shoes, Barefoot…PLUS! sandals — http://www.invisibleshoe.com. I’m not a world record holder, but I am an All-American M45 sprinter… just turned 50 and haven’t gone for an All-American time yet.

  4. Nolan Shaheed - June 22, 2012

Stephen, I’m going to try a pair and see how they feel on a run. I hope they are not just thin sandals.

  5. Steven Sashen - June 22, 2012

Well, they’re certainly not like any other sandal, Nolan… looking forward to hearing what you experience (give a call when you can — 303.447.3100 x 1001)

I hope it works, but it is not easy to get a high enough concentrations of ingredients to the muscle via an ectopic application.

    Thac,

I just placed an order. I can’t wait until it arrives! I work with an Herbalist/ TCM Practitioner here in Chicago. He is outstanding but he doesn’t focus on sports recovery. Your philosophy sounds similar to his. In case you are intrested his name is Dr. Zengang Guo and his company is Life Rising Corp. liferising.com. I’ll let you know what I think. Thank you!

ReGel? Isn’t that just another name for The Clear? Sorry…couldn’t resist…:-). And, I was always taught that topical agents don’t work because they don’t penetrate the skin. They only fool your brain which makes you ‘feel’ less pain. Feedback?

  9. Mary Harada - June 23, 2012

good one Fidel – and I am with you – re topical agents – but some times just rubbing stuff on make me feel better. The best thing I have found for my arthritic back – my heated car seat!
But maybe this one works – waiting to hear from those who buy ReGel and try it.

  10. Milan Jamrich - June 23, 2012

Mary, you need to move to Houston. You have a permanently heated car seat :-).

I ordered it on Friday afternoon and got it in the mail this morning. Talk about WR shipping! Wind gauge might not be working so probably won’t get ratified. I first tried it on my sore back and notice that it took the “edge” off the stiffness within a minute. It’s on my shins now and it is helping with the pain from running in spikes two days in a row. Pretty amazed so far. I’m heading off to the track in a bit and will bring it along.  Looks like it is on Amazon too but I think I’ll keep on buying it off of the main site since shipping was so fast.

Mary: Milan is ON the DINERO, That’s true and “popping “today here in Channelview

Mitchell: Keep us POSTED either WAY!!!!!!

  14. M. Mitchell - June 26, 2012

I’m surprised that my shins feel good. Usually they are thrashed after running on the track but they feel like I had a day of rest. I applied it before and after my workout and once this morning. I plan on taking the day off. My mother has arthritis on her wrist and she mentioned some relief after trying it out. I’m going to ask a few people too, just to make sure it is not my mind playing tricks.

  15. PANAMA KID - June 26, 2012

thanks for the post…not a bad idea to use another control.KEEP US POSTED

  16. Eddie - June 26, 2012

I normally don’t post but had to this time. This stuff rocks! Shipping was extremely fast. Has a light scent so you can wear it and not stink.

Ken: Thanks for the tip and you do a great service to masters track!

I’ve had a persistant glute strain for over 2 months now. I went to my kinesiotherapist and just took three weeks off. When I started back to sprint training on Monday, the pain came back. On Tuesday I started using REgel. By this morning I noticed a vast improvement. Tomorrow I’ll do my 200m repeats. I feel confident for the first time in a while. So far, very good!

  18. Panama Kid - June 27, 2012

THAC:Sure hope Jason and Mitchell are NOT product “plants”. I will check this “stuff” out myself and get back to the rest of us.

  19. Thachvu Ho - June 27, 2012

The Masters Track community has been so warm and friendly since I started running two years ago. I remember at 2011 Indoor Nationals, Brenda Matthews saw me eating lunch by myself and insisted that I join her group for lunch or Leo Sanders always smiling and saying hello (I’m sure he does that with everyone). I’ll chat with Aaron Thigpen about old Speed City athletes and now I train with Marty Krulee, joking around and motivating each other. Masters Track is a great family!

A few months ago I was thinking, I’m not going to break anymore records, so why keep REgel for myself. Everyone talks about how they are hurt or sore. I knew I could help and figured it’s my turn to give back to Masters Track.

Panama Kid: I don’t know Jason, M Mitchell, or Eddie. There is a 60 day money back guarantee. It will not hurt my feelings if you don’t like it.

Well, I ordered and received ReGel. I’ve been using it for the last three days as directed, including before and after workouts. So far I seen no effect, no difference whatsoever. In light of others’ favorable comments I’m somewhat disappointed. To be fair I will finish this jar but doubt I’ll re-order.

  21. Panama Kid - June 27, 2012

    Gracias-Henry…Owe you a MOJITO!!!!!!!

  22. Jason Purcell - June 28, 2012

I ran my 200m repeats today and my glute is tight but not sore. I ordered REgel to help with my injury and that is exactly what it did. I’m not looking for miracles or to rejuvinate my old legs. I had resonable expectations and they were met. I ordered two more yesterday.

  23. Jason Purcell - June 28, 2012

    reasonable

  24. M. Mitchell - June 29, 2012

I agree. This is not going to cure cancer! I bought it just to see if it could help. Overall, I believed it has worked, think it is a unique and glad it is all-natural. I’m tired of taking Advil. After experimenting with a total of 8 people, 7 out 8 had favorable results. My 62 year old neighbor was the only one that didn’t like it. He tried it twice and felt no relief on his shoulder. The youngest person was 15 and the oldest was 70. Relief ranged from 45 minutes to 4 hours. I notice it helped for about an hour or so for myself.

PK- I like mojitos too! With PR rum.

  25. Panama Kid - June 29, 2012

Mitchell: Any relief during meets would be helpful, I’m NSAID”s 800mg during meet days and heated races. If you’re going to East Regions, look me up at the 1&2 (60-64)after meet for Cuba Libre OR Mojito.Hope you’re NOT a diabetic (lol).

  26. K. Sunseri - July 1, 2012

I’ve been dealing with several injuries for the last 2 weeks and should probably take a couple more weeks off. After a week of rest and 2 days of applying REgel, I was able to run without pain. This stuff is for real. It’s different from menthol products but works better. Ken, thanks for spreading the word.
