Boston indoor nationals info posted — up to a point

It’s an interesting indoor season, where the worlds come before nationals. So be it. But moving right along, the Boston masters nationals folks have unveiled their 2008 Web site. But the entry form PDF isn’t posted yet. Neither is the page on “specific eligibility requirements” at the USATF National website. But the key info is the schedule, which is now online here. This will be the last masters nationals for Boston for a while, since the 2009 meet moves to Maryland. And 2010 hasn’t been assigned.

Do you have to be 35 on the day of the meet, or turning 35 in 2008?
Asking for a friend. No – really.

    Hi Kim,
The 2007 USATF Competition Rules (Section II, Rule 320, #4 & #5) states that “the age of a competitor on the 1st day of the meet determines the competitor’s division for individual events” (#4), and “the age on the 1st day of a meet of the youngest member shall determine the age division of a team in a team event or relay” (#5). What’s that?…Oh Gosh No! I didn’t know all that by heart…I knew I read it somewhere in the rules and just looked it up for you to be sure.
Oh, by the way…if your “friend” (just teasing) ends up in the W35 age group, tell her/him I said “Welcome”. Take Care! 🙂

Actually, if “him” ends up in the W35 age group that wouldn’t be so good…LOL. It’s early, I’m tired, just dropped the kids off at school, going back to bed!

Thanks for the reply. And I just looked at the 2007 results and it looks like there is a 30-34 year old division! So friend is okay. M30.
