Possible WMA time/venue schedule given privately to American
Masters Mole No. 673(c) has shared a copy of what appears to be a detailed time schedule for Porto Alegre worlds. The mole, an American, says he got it from a Brazilian. In any case, the official world championships website still hadn’t posted this as of 11 p.m. Pacific time Thursday, Oct. 3. So be aware that this schedule may not be official. In any case, with 13 days until opening ceremonies, it would be wise for the Brazilians to post the formal sked ASAP. Lots of folks are interested.

Porto Alegre Facebook page posted a detailed schedule about 7 hours before me:

The schedule looks a little different in format from one I posted:

You are THE MAN!!
According to both of these schedules, beware of the somewhat strange set-up for all age groups of men in the 200 metres only – prelims and semis are in another stadium (PUCRS). Finals the next day, are back at the main stadium with all the other sprint events. I just checked the sprints, so throws, jumps and distance folks may have their own anomalies. Check your events carefully and best of luck to all.
The WMA has posted the time table: http://www.world-masters-athletics.org. Good luck to all. I wish I could race this year, but I decided that 2013 would be my recovery year after my knee surgery in October of 2012. I am looking forward to returning to racing my fellow masters runners in 2014 at the indoor worlds in Budapest and the outdoor Nationals in Winston-Salem where I grew up.
If you run the short hurdles (80, 100 or 110), prepare to do semifinals and finals the same day (Oct. 25). You’ll have at least 5 hours rest, but is this a typical schedule for worlds?
Question is: when should a masters athlete reasonably expect to see the time schedule of a masters championships? I say a minimum of two weeks before the event.
WMA reports:
Porto Alegre News VIII: New (final) Schedule is available (05.10.2013)
The schedule that was posted on this webpage before the 5th of October was not correct. This new one is the correct version, but still this detailed time schedule is only tentative; this means it can still change but only in the way that scheduled events could run later than mentioned. This means there will be no event that will be scheduled earlier than mentioned in this version.
I only found out from their posting on Facebook
How come it’s not on the main website? We shouldn’t have to do a scavenger hunt for it with clues from friends.
