Ed Burke makes 75 throws over 2 weekends, tops pent WR
Ed threw a WR indoor at Landover.
Ed continued in his note to me:
So I have my fingers crossed for some “luck”. In doing that meet, I injured my hamstring and tore something in my right calf .. . so I have been trying to recover enough to participate in the Las Vegas Meet. I hope I can tape up and give it a good effort… If not… you know, I love the preparation and anticipation of the sport as much as the actual competition so it will all be for the good no matter what the results.
For the record, Ed had these marks at the Nevada throws pentathlon:
Weight Pentathlon: #2 M70 Shot Put Seniors 5 Weight Pentathlon

Good job Ed!! Thought of you today when I drove by Moffet and saw a few guys throwing.
Need some down time to repair and recover…
I had prepared by actually doing a 5 eventer every other day for the past month… excited to see the improvement in javelin, shot and discus… My training coaches, Gary and Terry…. sent me home
last Monday… “and stay there” until LVegas meet.
a little wiser …. but very motivated to build a stronger base that will hold up to the odd stretching and bending of my weaker events… 🙂
Ed,
You’re my hero! Keep on throwing far!
Amazing performances!
It’s great to see you continue to do so well- I admire your commitment to excellence-Congrats
Ed,
You certainly gave it a go. I’m impressed with your javelin. Wait for spring and try again.
ED,
