We do not have any pole-vaulters at Greenville High School (Greenville, Texas) vaulting that high.

Holding 13’8 + on a 14′ pole at age 60yrs of age + is very impressive. Vaulting a mere 7″ over your top hand is not so impressive. I’m sorry but I’m still bitter about the 1972 Munich Olympics when our US vaulters were stripped of their poles and forced to use borrowed poles and local German pole vaulter, Wolfgang Nordwig, beat world record holder and defending Olympic champion Bob Seagram (US) to end our streak of US PV Olympic Champions. At the end of the competition, Bob handed his borrowed pole to the German official and told him where he could put it.

I am confused by the comments that Ken Davis made. Was Wolfgang Ritte involved in the Munich PV issue?
