Official notice on Millrose masters relays

Mary Rosado shares the following note, which begins “USATF has announced that there will be a 4 x 400m relay event for masters 40+ men and women at the 99th Millrose Games on February 3, 2006 at Madison Square Garden.” Interesting. If USATF is behind these races, why did it take so long to make them known? Oh well. I’ve also forwarded this announcement to USATF HQ in Indy, where I hope it will be included in News & Notes, the press release that goes out to media outlets across the country. (Sometimes, news isn’t news until USATF sez it is.)

Anyhoo, here is Mary’s notice:

The way this message is posted, both here on the blog and on the e-list – it appears that Mary Rosado’s name is combined with that of James Reillly, and the phone numbers and email addresses also run together. This reminds me of the book “Eats shoots and Leaves” – there is a reason why a comma should be used to indicate a separation between items. It is Mary Rosado, James Reilly, and then there are two distinct phone numbers and two distinct email addresses. The submissions for the women’s teams go to Mary Rosado, those for the men to James Reilly. Just being picky picky picky

Thanks for the heads up, Mary. I reformatted the file so the garble issue is no more.
