Anyone entered at Albuquerque indoor nationals who lives in area?

Hi, folks. In the interests of better media coverage of indoor nationals, I’d like to hear about any athletes entered who live in or near Albuquerque. We already know that Patricia Porter, the high jump Olympian, is an Albu resident, but we’re looking for other names to feed the local press. If you’re shy, just email me the information. Otherwise, post it here as comment. Many thanks!

Master’s shot putter, Dennis Diaz, Men’s 50-54. He had a 16.20m (53′ 1.75″) throw in May of 2010 that is ranked the 4th longest throw in the world in his age group for 2010. I believe Dennis lives in Las Cruces, NM. Also, shot putter Nate Barnreiter, Men’s 45-49. He won the Men’s 40-44 shot put with a throw of 14.83m (48′ 8″) at outdoor nationals in Spokane in 2008 and he is also an elite Master’s powerlifter nationally as well. He is from Rio Rancho, NM, a northern suburb of Albuquerque.

Hope to catch up with my fellow hurdler in ABQ. Does anyone know if he is going to run?

In regards to the meet, I am looking for a couple of guys to form a 4x200m relay team for the M45. Currently, I am running in the 23-34 sec range and so I think I can help a team. let me know.

Error in my previous post…. I meant I am running in the 23-24 sec range (and NOT 23-34). sorry about that..

Don, I too am diappointed that Stacey is not on the list of entrants. Haven’t seen him in a couple years now. Maybe he’s been dealing with an injury?

If I EVER meet a shy Master, snow won’t melt and ice will be a fixed feature. I mean, show us a microphone/TV camera and we salivate. Consider CPR on any Master you see who says, “Oh, please, no interviews.” Those of you headed for ABQ, go for the gold. Smartty
