Countdown Down Under too — for another big Games
It’s almost springtime in Aussieland. But folks in Adelaide, South Australia, are already talking up a meet more than a year from now. It’s called the Australasian Masters Games. Paula Stankiewicz, marketing coordinator for the Confederation of Australian Sport Events, writes: “From 5-14 October 2007… the Games will attract over 10,000 participants from Australia and overseas, who will take part in approximately 60 sports over the 10-day period.” Track and field is joined by a road mile and some distance runs. I wrote her back, asking where results will be posted.
She replied:
“The track results will be posted on the Games website after each day of competition. As I mentioned, the new Games Website will be launched after 1 October 2006 ready for the Games in October 2007. To access results the following steps will apply: Go to Sports and Venues on main menu then: Sport Specific Information / Athletics / Results. If you’re interested in accessing results from the Games held in 2005, this is the direct link to the page.

I competed in the World Games and World Championships in Australia. Both competitions were well organized and fun. At the time, prices were very good (before the dollar went into the tank). The Australians love sport, and you can expect an excellent meet. I will probably go into hock to compete in Riccioni and Australia.
I am looking for accommodation for the games forthree ladies and one man ( all family). Can anyone help???
Cheers,
Carole
