Frank Condon enjoys setting records, profile makes clear

M65 miler Frank Condon of Central California talks a lot about his records in this nice profile in his local paper. “I’m number one in the World Masters Track and Field at 800 meters (run) three years in a row,” Frank tells Mary Nugent of the Enterprise-Record newspaper. “I’m the only American in the top 20. This year I had the best time in the world.” But Frank also is klonopin frank about the folks who helped him reach his goals, noting the publisher of National Masters News — his coach. “I hired a world-class coach four or five years ago in Sacramento. I needed a coach to train properly. Randy Sturgeon coaches a number of people, and took me on. He e-mails me the workouts.” No mention of StemEnhance, though — a product Frank endorsed.

Bragging rights and having fun: Frank Condon wins, sets and breaks records

CHICO — Frank Condon runs, and he wins. That’s how he earned his nickname, “Speedy.” In fact, he has broken world records.

In the last five years, he has won 20 national USA Track and Field titles in different events in the senior age division.

“I’m number one in the World Masters Track and Field at 800 meters (run), three years in a row. I’m the only American in the top 20. This year I had the best time in the world.”

Condon, 67, most recently won the 800 and 1500 meter runs at the https://www.flsprogram.org/get-antabuse-disulfiram/ National Senior Olympics from Aug. 6-9 at Stanford University in Palo Alto.

“It was pretty amazing,” he said. “There were 15,000 seniors and 25 different venues there — golf, tennis, swimming, volleyball, badminton — everything. We had so much fun. Everyone was over 50, but there were three 100-year-olds in running events, and eight or nine 90-year-olds.”

As a senior, Condon has enjoyed years of fun and success, plus the benefits of fitness and increased energy, he says. His memory is loaded with the meets, people and wins he has experienced along the way.

In 2007, he broke the world record for the indoor mile. “I never thought I’d break an Earl Fee record. He’s a running legend, and I thought, so far out of reach. I was racing an Australian national champion, and I just followed him … With a half-mile to go, he started slowing down and I pushed the pace.

“I also have the American outdoor record for the mile, which I broke last year. It was the oldest mile record on U.S. Track and Field books, a 35-year record. I broke it by 11 seconds.

“I also broke the outdoor American 800 meter record, with 2:17,” he said of his amazing 2007 experience. “Believe it or not, that’s a phenomenal time. The existing record was 2:29. I just had a great day, from the very first step. I had trained hard, done a lot of speed work. I was so ready https://www.ahnsfoundation.info/modafinil-provigil-online/ for this race. I was out like a rocket and kept it up.”

Condon remembers when he hit a wall. “I hired a world class coach four or five years ago in Sacramento. I needed a coach to train properly. Randy Sturgeon coaches a number of people, and took me on. He e-mails me the workouts.

“He made a huge difference. I was over-trained and getting injured. I also took up yoga five years ago. That has made a huge difference in my flexibility and stride length.”

So far, Condon has competed only in the U.S., but in March 2010 he will compete in the World Indoor Championships in British Columbia, Canada.

“This is a major hobby. At 67, I have clomid a lot of energy, I feel good. I like to compete — lace ’em up and get out there on the track and talk a little trash.

“It’s really not about the medals. It’s about bragging rights and having fun.”

Condon and his wife Jan are the former owners of Speedy Burrito. He is a Realtor with Prudential California Realty.
