Gail Devers’ Fountain of Youth tour moves to France

Gail Devers, 40 going on 25, will run the 60-meter hurdles tomorrow night at an indoor meet in Paris. Guess she found her sugar daddy after all. But here’s the really amazing part: After competing in France on Friday, she may fly back to the States and run at Boston nationals Sunday! Here’s what USATF’s Tom Surber (who covered the Charlotte masters nationals) reported today about the Boston meet:

The most intriguing entrant is undoubtedly six-time USA indoor champion, American record holder, and four-time World Indoor Championships gold medalist Gail Devers. The 40-year-old Devers, who won an historic 60 dash-60 hurdles double at the USA Indoor Championships in 2004, is coming off a win February 2 at the 100th Millrose Games and is slated to compete in Paris Friday night. She will make a decision on whether she will compete in Boston after traveling back to the U.S. on Saturday.

The chatter on the T&FN message board suggests that Gail would have declared for Boston if she were serious. So the CW is that she won’t run. But I’m holding out hope.
Jetlag is nuthin compared to childbirth! Go Gail!
