Renee Shepherd (right) lacked a zero test for a WR 60.
It’s only April, and guess how many marks have been submitted for American record review? Two dozen? Forty? Sixty? All wrong. Try 72 as of Friday.
Jeff Brower as USATF Masters T&F Records Committee chair is keeping his Google Docs busy. He’s created two lists of submitted marks for 2015 — one is for everything at Winston-Salem indoor nationals.
(See it here.) And the other is for everything else.
(See it here.) Reason for two lists? Jeff explains: “Any USATF athlete may submit a record application subsequent to a record setting performance. For American Records, forms do NOT need to be submitted for the following competitions: USATF National Masters OR Open Track and Field Championships, NCCWMA Masters Championships, WMA World Masters Championships.” Additional pre-2015 marks are
being listed here — 13 so far. Jeff also updated his
records page portal. But runners, make sure your meet starter has done a
Zero Control Test with the pistol.
Renee Shepherd’s potential W50 world record for 60 (8.02 seconds) was rejected for lack of the ZCT.

Ken – do you know why the M75 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays from Winston-Salem Indoor Nationals are not on the list of those submitted for review as American records?
Let’s just hope the third time was a charm. I ran under the W50 60m listed World Record for the third time at the NY Open and Masters Championships. This meet actually conducted a zero control test and was kind enough to print a copy for me.
Just Google USATF Masters American Records
It appears that the 4 x 200 is not listed on Masters Outdoor and not listed on the Masters Indoor American record lists.
4 x 200 is not listed at
http://www.usatf.org/statistics/records/masters_outdoorTF.asp
But listed under some of the age specifoc groups. Possibly the page linked above needs to add another linked page for 4 x 200.
The 4×200 Indoors is an “exhibition” race and not recognized as record eligible. The WMA appears to recognize it indoors but not outdoors.
