Half-lap bonanzas on Left and Right Coasts
More results from the weekend are filtering in, including news of two records involving the 200. At Saturday’s Southern California Association USATF Masters Championships, Willie Gault scorched the M40 200 in 21.6-something electronically and Kettrell Berry ran 21.8-something. Awaiting details on exact times and wnd readings. The listed American M40 record for 200 is the 21.86 by Bill Collins dating to 1992.
In the masters exhibitions at the New Jersey International Meet , the M50 Sprint Force America team of Francis Schiro, Ed Gonera, Archie Glaspy and Robert Bowen ran the 4×200 in 1:35.89 (an average leg of 23.97) to better a listed 1.37.08 by the Houston Elite squad of George Haywood, Horace Grant, Charles Allie and Bill Collins.

How does one submit times without the legal wind reading and a picture showing the FAT system used when indicating records?
Thats why all the times around the USA are questioned by other athletes in different countries. Look at the results from the past national championship 2004, one of the athletes mentioned took 3rd by a large margin in the 100 meter finals. Brings about other questioned regarding these times.
The term “pending record” would be the better term to use; it won’t be a record until approved by the Records Committee at the USATF Annual Meeting in December. For the record to be approved, a finish picture from the automatic timing system, along with the wind readings as appropriate (as well as proof of age) must accompany the record application. The masters committee recommmends approval first, then it goes to the Records Committee for final approval.
