Handful of photos from USATF Western Regionals online
I took a few pictures at Long Beach State on Sunday — Day 2 of the USATF Western Regional Masters Championships. It was cooler for most of the day Sunday, thanks to a light sprinkle. But by 12:30 p.m., the track had dried off. On Saturday, folks were dropping like flies in 103-degree heat and high humidity. Nolan Shaheed, who had lowered his own M55 American record for 800 with a 2:05.17 a week earlier at the USATF National Club Championships, could only walk/jog the last 20 yards of the 800 Sunday, the effects of a long weekend of running.
