Happy holidays from our poster girl for rehabbing masters stars
Iowa’s Kay Glynn is expecting her eighth grandchild as the year wanes. But never flagging is her spirit and sense of fun. As she recovers from hip and ACL surgery in the past year (which has sidelined her from the vault and hurdles), she sends her eighth seasonal greeting photo. She also posted a video to YouTube showing her recent exercises and jogging progress. The cornfield’s a nice touch, Kay.

I agree, it looks like her ACL is healing well 🙂
You look wonderful, Kay. What a great representative you have been for the state of Iowa. I hope that your recovery continues to be spectacular.
Go Kay! You are one of my heroines!
I’ve kept busy, but I’m looking forward to seeing all of my friends at the meets again! Have a safe and happy holiday to all of you!
Kinda reminds me of my grandmother… NOT!!
So cool!!!
Ummmmm. Kay hasn’t been totally sidelined from the vault. I “ran” into Kay at the South Dakota Senior Games in September where she won the W60-64 pole vault in a record 4’1″. She is also listed as the South Dakota Senior Games record holder for:
Pole Vault
W50 9’3″
W55 9’0″
Discus
W50 78′ 8″
W70 77′ 7″
Javelin
W50 86′
W55 79′ 11″
Shot Put
W55 29′ 10″
High Jump
W50 4’8″
W55 4’10”
200m
W50 29.20
400m
W55 74.15
Triple Jump
W55 26′ 1″
Maybe that is a South Dakota corn field.
Happy Holimaize.
Merry Christmas to you, too, Kay!
Funny, David. Yes, 11 weeks after ACL surgery, I negotiated with my dr. to let me jog 4 steps and vault left handed over one bar to qualify for the 2015 senior games. It wasn’t pretty.
As far as the other records, I tend to peak in the fall, after all the nationals are done since my outdoor training and fun doesn’t really begin until June!
I’m comfortable in South Dakota, but I will claim the cornfield that’s beside my pit at home. 🙂
Thats what I’m talkin bout. A real field of dreams. Merry Christmas Champ.
