Huntsman World Senior Games track meet starts (and an apology)
That’s not egg on my face. It’s a ham and cheese omelet. A week ago, I posted a rant about results not being posted for the Huntsman World Senior Games. Of course, a good reason existed: The track meet had yet to start. (It officially opened Monday, Oct. 16, at Dixie High School.) I apologize to meet directors Angie Poulton and Don DeNoon. (But please expedite results.) The really good news is that Rob Jerome is expediting his photos from St. George, Utah. Check out these early efforts.

Neringa lives in Memphis and I believe held the Lithuanian record in the 100 hurdles. She is a tremendous athlete and won several events at the National Senior Games last summer and would be a great subject for an interview.
Apology accepted, from St George Utah.
Ken, I realize you’re not a big fan of racewalking, but there will also be results for the 1500m, 3000m and 5000m racewalk events.
Side Note for Racewalker …
Ohio Racewalker newsletters 1965 until (2014 ?) can be found at http://www.racewalk.com/ORW/
It includes open and master’s racewalk info.
You cannot call yourself a “World Senior Track and Field championship” without the pole vault. Why no more pole vault?
Why no hammer? and here it is Thursday and still no results
Writing your readers from St George. Huntsman track and field has just wrapped up here in the glorious fall weather, clear Wester air, and scenic mountains of southern Utah (said fervently as only an East Coast Yankee can say them).
From my perch here, the number one story was All-World Roger Vergin, just recently a M80, held (if only briefly) BOTH M75 AND M80 USA number one marks in BOTH the LJ and TJ. To repeat, that’s four USA leading marks in two events in two age categories. I ask you, has such ever been done before???
Well Ken, you can go back on your rant. It is now Thursday, and still no results. It used to be that the results came out the same night that the event took place. I wonder what the holdup is?
I agree with Steve Morris. As a pole vaulter, I am biased, but I ask, would a 1500 meter runner feel any different if a “World Track and Field Championship” did not include the 1500 meter run? I think not.
The results for the sprints have been posted as of 4:30 CST.
The results from the Huntsman Meet are now posted
on their website.
As of 10:30 EDT on Saturday, still no field event results.
