Brad Barton image tops new genre: pix of masters beating kids
Brad Barton is living the dream. Not just the dream of setting records — he gets to savor the masters fantasy of beating the kiddies (my term for elite collegians). And the best shot I’ve ever seen came out of the Music City Distance Carnvival where he crushed the M45 world record in the 3K steeplechase. (Results are posted here, BTW.) Over the weekend, Brad shared this image, taken by Foon Fu, a runner and photographer. “This is too fun,” Brad writes. “Our masters community might get a giggle. This was taken just past the mile mark. I beat this young Duffy kid (the one with the disbelieving glare) by 25 seconds.” But you don’t have to be a world-beater to star in such photos (as my beating-the-grade-schooler shot demonstrated). Have a shot of yourself wailing on the whippersnappers? Share the link!
