Martin Gasselsberger posts world masters rankings for 2010
Martin Gasselsberger, a serious stat guy across the Pond, has posted what he calls world masters rankings—actually seasonal lists based on his web-surfing. He says: “Hello, the first version from the World Rankings 2010 is online. Many results from Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Netherlands, Asia Championships, South American Championships and smaller Countries became included later. Please send me corrections until 30 March 2011 (deadline). The All-Time Rankings Update coming in May 2011. Greetings to all over the world.” However, several masters have written me about flubs in these lists. That’s understandable. This is a hobby and has no official status. So be nice when you write him. (I also discovered Martin’s Facebook page.)

This guy is doing a GREAT job!
Very informative website: one can spend hours and hours in reading the annual ranking lists, as well as the all-time bests!
Good luck, Martin! We appreciate what you are doing!
It may not have official status, but my biggest goal is to make his list before I leave my age group.
There are two types of lists to shoot for: the World Rankings by event and age group BY YEAR (recorded back to 2006), which includes indoor and outdoor marks), and the ALL TIME World Rankings list, which is even more difficult to make. The site also includes athlete names and photos by country. Much thanks to Martin for taking this on!
This list is great. It is good to know what the rest of the world is doing, especially since many of them are coming here to Sacramento this summer.
I barely made the list in the 8, so I need to step up my game to be ready for the worlds.
That picture is odd.
But the lists aren’t. They are great. In fact WMA should do this service for us, or they could start to hire Martin.
I agree with Weia!
Martin, das ist grossartig!
To find ones name still in the world ranking, at least for last year means, we are still with it.
Better yet, I found names of former team mates and competitors from the 60th… who are still competing
well.
Hi Liz,
number ONE in the rankings for hurdles, great!!
It was worth the trip to Ft. Collins.
See you in NM
I couldn’t find the Decathlon or Heptathlon rankings (even though the non-Olympic event of weight pentathlon is there). Are the main combined events not included?
He does a great job
Ok…I should say something really complimentary about his website, and I will…really…soon, but for now…Wow…easy on the eyes for sure. Sorry…I’m just say’n. 🙂
