New lists of WMA world champions add DOBs, wind

My masters friend Rosa Marchi of Italy shares news of a great new reference: this “Register of Honor” of all world masters champions by event and age group since the inaugural 1975 meet in Toronto. Here’s the list of 100-meter men’s champions, for example. Filippo Luigi Fasolato and Werter Corbelli are credited for this work, which improves on a similar compilation on a British Web site (the women’s lists are here). The new Italian lists add dates of birth and wind readings.

Here’s how the Italians reported this new workup:

THE REGISTER OF HONOR OF WMA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STADIA
It’s the countdown before the start of WMA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS STADIA XVII and we think it’s the best time for you to “grab a bite” of a whole new Register of Honor of the championship – covering all the competitions in all categories. It is without a doubt that we say something like this had never been put together before. It is the result of the tenacious and minute work of Filippo Fasolato and Werter Corbelli, an operation which sistematically covers what we felt was a void in the world of Masters’ track & field.
You can check out or download the full version of the Register online from new section Albi d’Oro on the left of this page, between the Pagine Master (or [click here]). There you can also download the stats for each individual men’s and women’s competion. Should there be any inaccuracies, or should you encounter any mistakes we encourage you to share it with us: master@atleticanet.it.

I’m also reminded that the British site lists only a handful of age groups — men M40 to M50 and women W35 to W45. So the Italian site appears to be the first online compilation of all WMA champions in all age groups. Incredible work!
