Ottey takes record lower! Runs 60 in 7.30 in Leipzig

Merlene Ottey won’t stop overachieving. Last night in Leipzig, she ran 60 meters in 7.30 seconds, bettering her recent W45 world indoor record of 7.36. Then Merlene took third in last night’s final in 7.36, finishing behind a pair of Poles, according to a report posted on the T&FN message board. Wonder what 46-year-old lady sprinters make in appearance fees these days. Merlene has to be cashing in somehow. And 7.30 is worth 6.59 on the Age-Graded Tables. Slap me silly.

This woman has not received the recognition she deserves. Check out her website. She must have a very large trophy room.
