See fotos of Lofton, Magill at USC masters meet
Had great luck with my Nikon Coolpix 4300 at Sunday’s Trojan Masters Meet. See my photo gallery, which includes a nice shot of the finish of a sizzling 400 won by Mike Sullivan. Also, I stuck my camera up James Lofton’s nose, and he graciously resisted putting it in some unshiny place. M50 James obviously still pumps iron. Another muscular master is M45 middle-distancer Pete Magill, who ran an amazing 800-1500 double in near record times. I also have shots of M60 Stan Whitley, who broke his age in the 400.

Ken thank you for sharing your pictures from the Trojan Masters meet with all of us. The buff gent who’s name you didn’t know is Fred Lindsley age 61 of Grand Terrace. He finished 1st in his age group at the Carlsbad 5000 last March. He should go under 2:20 in the 800m and about 4:53 in the 1500m by next year. A big thank you goes out to Meet Director Eugene Driver who put on a very nice meet. I hope that this meet will once again become a staple event on the Masters calendar from year to year. Mark Cleary
Hello,
And speaking of ‘buff gents’, Stan Whitley, you are still THE MAN! Good to see you back on the track. You’re lookin’ great and runnin’ fast, even though you’re now on the far side of 60.
Hope to see you, Stan, at a meet or two next year!
And KStone, Thanks for sharing the great pix with us. I’ll try to send you a report and some pix from the uncoming USA Masters Decathlon Meet in Seattle this weekend.
regards to all in geezertrackland,
