What does Montana State have over masters track?

This AP report chaps my hide: “BOZEMAN — Anonymous donors have set up a $1 million endowment for the Montana State track and field program, the university says.’This generation gift will help sustain our track and field program in the future,’ MSU athletic director Peter Fields said Wednesday. ‘It is a tremendous gift by a very generous, forward-thinking family.” OK, OK. I’m all in favor of being true to your school, but what about being true to your sport? A million smackeroos for masters track could do incredible stuff — improve our marketing, subsidize our champions, assure better meets. So where’s a masters track Sugar Daddy when you need one?

Ken, you need to put out a call to all masters athletes in hopes one of them knows a multi-millionaire. And when you find one or two, have them espouse the virtues of masters T&F in hopes the cry will fall on sympathetic ears. Perhaps we need a “talking points” sheet so there is a common thread that can be presented.
Anybody know Nike founder Phillip Knight?

In Brisbane (at World Masters), I got the impression that some masters teams were subsidized by their governments. Anyone have any information?
