Your hit parade reaches milestone: 3,000 comments
In major league baseball, you’re considered a legend when you’ve reached career 3,000 hits. So it’s with great awe and admiration that I salute the readers of this blog — who have combined to post 3,000 comments on this here board. Christel Donley of Colorado, talking about South Dakota’s anemic masters circuit, posted the 3,000th comment yesterday. In truth, probably 8,000 comments have been submitted, but the extras were spam (which I’ve deleted).
I’m tickled that Christel was Miss 3,000, since she’s an admitted Net newbie working hard to master her computer. But she’s a trouper, even making an effort to read my blog from its January 2003 start. Only a world-champion heptathlete could endure such punishment.
Of course, the secret to this site’s success isn’t me blathering like an idiot but you advancing the discussion in a thousand creative ways. Some of the biggest scoops on masterstrack.com, in fact, are newsy notes you’ve posted. You make, and preserve, history by contributing.
According to my traffic stats, 23,000 of you made repeat visits to masterstrack.com’s home page in the third quarter of 2007. Not too shabby.
Over on our Forum, meanwhile, y’all blew past the 350-registrant mark in mid-October. Today you number 363 and have posted nearly 1,600 articles (racing ahead of my current 1,578 blog entries).
Among the most prolific posters is M60 discus champion Tom Fahey of Northern California with 147 blog comments, 112 Forum submissions and one YouTube video:
Tom is my hero. You all are.
Carry on.

My film was a lame attempt to use Imovie and an animation program I bought at the Mac show last year. I am working on a film describing rotational strength training methods that will hopefully be more socially redeeming.
Congratulations to Ken on his wonderful site.
Brilliant -makes me want to go out and buy a pair of high heels and take up the discus!
You people have me started: now you will have to read my “contribution” once in a while.
Mary, you can have some of my high heels, and an old discus..
My high heels are only good for sitting, otherwise my hamstrings cramp! What’s so graceful about getting older? it “sucks…” Actually, I am not allowed to use that word, my grandkids told me!
Nice one, there is actually some worthwhile points on this post some of my friends may find this relevant, I will send a link, thanks.
