10 Olympians listed as entrants at Charlotte nationals
USATF’s news release on the upcoming masters nationals counts 10 Olympians (don’t call them “former Olympians”) entered at Charlotte. The latest discovery is M45 distancer John Tuttle, entered in the 5K and 10K. He was on the 1984 team for the marathon (he took 105th. Bad day). The others are Ed Burke, Bud Held, Patricia Porter, Jim Barrineau, Karl Smith, Richard Cochran, Henry Andrade, Gary Stenlund and Bernice Holland. I wouldn’t be surprised if we missed a few. Olympians can be shy about announcing themselves.
