In this article, Derek says he wants to go 19-4 before he retires:

Oh man! I overlooked 39-year-old Jeff Laynes!
He ran 10.70 into a wind.
He’s probably the fastest M35 in the USA.
He turns 40 in October:

Way to represent Rod! To all of the hurdles great job and tough headwind!
nice going guys…
Ah, yes, the 100 dash and the 110/100/80 hurdles. No staggers, no confusion, just a straight shot to the finish. These are always very popular events. Would love to see Jeff Laynes at Sacramento, but I have heard nothing of his plans.
I believe that sprinter-hurdler Rod Jett and sprinter Aaron Thigpen are definites for Sacramento, but I don’t know about anyone else who was mentioned in this article. Personally, my target in terms of numbers is Charlotte (2006 outdoors), the last masters nationals with an entry list of over 1250 (reported as 1367 by National Masters News).
It’s easy to forget now because of what happened at Charlotte (meet was halted for two consecutive days because of weather-related problems), but that meet had huge fields in both the 100 and the straight hurdles.
Oh, what were Charlotte’s numbers? The entry lists showed 307 competitors in the 100 dash and 108 in the straight hurdles. Sacramento is, of course, far behind those numbers, but regular entry (no penalty) does not close until June 25, or 3 weeks from this coming Friday.
Again, would love to see Sacramento break Charlotte’s stats. Then I will be happy, and I will feel justified in having predicted long ago that Sacramento would break 1400.
Great to see Kevin is back!
