Yanks head home after successful WMA regionals in Puerto Rico

Marcus Shute is 47, but since he runs like a 35-year-old he anchored the M35 4Г—1 relay at WMA regionals in Puerto Rico. He and Antwon Dussett (listed as 34), Lyndell Pittman (38) and Don Drummond (41) brought home the gold, of course. Earlier in the day, Marcus won the M45 200 in 23.37, Don won the M40 200 in 23.64, Lyndell won the M35 half-lap in 23.63 and Antwon won the M30 deuce in 21.55. They and other viagra online Americans are arriving home now after the four-day meet in Mayaguez.

From left are Marcus Shute, Antwon Dussett, Lyndell Pittman and Don Drummond of the gold-medal M35 4x100 relay at Mayaguez.

Way to bring home that Anchor leg Marcus! It was a privilege to run with all the guys. Too bad we did not have time to really practice our exchanges, as time would have been easily in the 42 second range.

Should be some great Relays at Worlds next year.

I’m informed that Team USA ran in the 30-39 relay and should have been categorized as an M30 quartet, not M35. They’re still No. 1. But how unfair to inflict Marcus on M30s. Shatter their tender egos!

I would like to give a shoutout to the people of Puerto Rico; their hospitality was fantastic. Congrats to all the relay teams…they looked smooth, like they had been practicing for weeks instead of just a few minutes. The facility was great…shade and water was plentiful…and officials were competitor friendly.

Lots of props for the younger mastersand WELL MERITED -BUT FOLKS-LETS NOT FORGET THE OLDER MASTERS THAT KICKED MUCH CULO ALSO in the 4×100 and 4×400 of Fulton.Butler,Sanders and Waller-THEY GOT ORO ALSO

  26. Warren Graff - September 11, 2010

Same goes for the even older (M60+) team USA that also won both their relay heats – K.Smith, Binion, Talib, Graff, and Kenrick Smith provided an outstanding come-from-behind anchor leg in the 4×100 for the win.
