Belgian Peter De Vocht claims M50 world record for 10,000
The article continued (please excuse rough Google translation):
“I was even ahead of schedule that I had previously mapped. Under that schedule, I had to make every lap in 74 seconds. But after seven km I got it hard. I had my luxury hare Stefan Van Den Broek, American champion at the same distance, ask for the rate reduction. In no time so I lost my bonus rounds that I previously had built. In the last passage I was even four seconds behind at the time of Ion Damian. I do not know how I’ve performed, but that last 400 meters I have traveled in 69 seconds, which I just dived under the world record. ”
The listed WR is 30:56.08 by Belgium’s Damian in 2003.
Anyone know Peter’s background — especially his all-time bests?

Peter has been a top masters distance competitor for years, regularly appearing at the top of the world lists for M45-49. This effort is far from a surprise. Instead, it’s the culmination of many great years of training and racing. Congrats, Peter!!!
