American records in W90 long jump, M85 weight throw at SW

Your great-grandmother can be an American record-holder, but she’d better act soon. Available slots in W90 are going fast. USATF lists only four indoor records in that age group. Make that five after Saturday, when Mary Norchkauer long-jumped 1.60 meters (5-3) at the USATF Southwest Regional Indoor Championship (masters and open) at Carl Maddox Field House at LSU. The W90 WR is Olga Kotelko’s 1.70 (5-7). Also at the Baton Rouge meet, John Poche reached 12.86 (42-2 1/4) in the 12-pound weight throw, crushing the listed M85 AR of 10.14 (33-3) by David Schlothauer. John also won the high jump at 1.05 (3-5 1/4). See complete results here.

Anyone looking for a quality indoor meet in the future should give this one a shot. Byron Turner and crew put on a great meet.
