Eurovets results add to legend of John Seto’s mastersrankings.com
posted Eurovets indoor championships results and writes: “Even though this meet and several other national and regional championships (Germany, Canada, Belgium, UK, US, Portugal, Baltic and others) have been inserted, we are still compiling 2015 – 2016 World and WMA regional Indoor rankings. A huge thank you to everyone who sent us meet results. Rankings lists will be complete quicker in years to come. Please help us complete these quicker by sending us results and putting potential sponsors in touch with us so we can hire more staff to keep up with the workload.â€

Tom Phillips, the only man who can run a 60m and photograph its race at the same time 🙂

Thanks for the wonderful photos!
Yes, Tom Philips is the “Man”. How does he find energy both for photo-shooting for hours and for competing (once or twice) in the course of one day?
His twitter page (https://twitter.com/TomSprints) is also quite interesting.
Thanks to John Seto as well for his wonderful work with compiling the World ranking lists!

Thank you both. I’ve done some pretty energetic things in my life, but I think it only fair to point out that the 60m finish photo above was taken by the excellent stadium photographers at the Eurovets in Ancona. Couldn’t possibly have been by me – I’m on the far left in Lane 8 in the shot! It was a great race, with 1/100th of a second covering 4th to 6th. I got 6th.

Ha, ha, that photo from the European M75 400m Final. Prenez garde – watch out – for the Third Man!
The great Guido of course overtook me on the last bend and won easily in 67.57s. Gasping for air already at that 200m mark, I finished second in 69.80s. But I was almost pipped to the post by the truly remarkable Frenchman Jean-Louis Esnault who threw himself over the line to finish Third in 69.82s, only 0.02s behind me! Jean-Louis then picked himself up and went off 30 mins afterwards to run the M75 5K cross country, where he again finished Third and with same time as the second man – probably threw himself at the line again! Jean-Louis had already won Gold for the M75 3,000m and Gold for the 1,500m (new ER and 0.92s from Ed Whitlocks’s WR). It is privilege to compete with such people. Thank you Ancona, EMA and FIDAL.

Great job Tom. 1/100 just before you, but what a race!!! Fantastic pictures on your site. Hope to see you again next year in Daegu or Aarrhus.

How can you submit performances for someone else?
Still can’t figure it out.

While the above posts focus on Tom Phillips very excellent photos, let’s also give exceedingly great thanks for John Seto for his efforts to capture the world’s masters track and field times and marks. I am happy with the top 25, but John’s lists go 400 deep! Thanks John!!!

Matt B: most results in John’s rankings are imports of a whole meet. That’s mostly of someone else 😉

Great story & great photos. Congrats to all participants.
Noticed under Silke Schmidt’s photo it stated new world record in w55 3000. Results show a time of 10:41+ Listed wr is Kathryn Martin 10:35 of USA. Perhaps I am missing something in the results? Can anybody clarify?

Charles,
Announced and celebrated in the stadium as a WR. Was one of a few where a faster time is on record. W55 60m hurdles for example.

Not really, the results from the masters mile at the Pepsi meet do not include a 4:48, 4th place finish, by a 48 year old.
So how do we input this result for someone else? I don’t think we can, I’m still unclear on how all the results from a particular meet are being imported.

The “Paste complete meet results for inserting” link would be where I’d look.
