The 99* F temperature at 5 PM was in Lyon, was not a prime time to try to run in the 5000 meters timed finals. The organizers had water hoses spraying water over both turns and all it did was put lanes 1 and two under water and cause your shoes to get soaked, while also increasing the humidity, because the track surface was so hot, it actually made “Steam”. This was not what I expected and it was a lot worse than the 100* F we ran in in the 10,000 meters in Lyle Ill in the Nationals in 2012.
