Jim Chinn meets his match; masters pals among wedding party
M50 bachelor-no-more Jim Chinn, the world-class quarter-miler, got hitched yesterday in north San Diego County, where he lives. He and his bride Cecile — approaching liplock below — were married in the cozy chapel of the historic Rancho Guajome Adobe in Vista, a few miles from where they’re making their home in her place. Nine masters track friends were among the 90-plus witnesses to the 3 p.m. wedding, including meet announcer Peter Taylor, who flew out from Baltimore the day before and was set to return home today. Other masters present included James Lofton, Greg Pizza, David Hockersmith (from Scottsdale, Arizona), Durrell Turnage, Eric Dixon, Corey Moody (from Las Vegas) and Dave DiMassa.
Architect Jim and dental hygienist Cecile hope to honeymoon in New York City this spring. Their reception was held at her home, which he now shares while he rents out his former residence.

The Chinns were officially pronounced married at 3:37 p.m. Pacific time Thursday in Vista, California. (Photo by Chris Stone)
The bulk of masters visitors gathered with Jim on the stairway of their beautiful home at the catered reception, where a live band played in the living room feet away.
