Kamloops hosting Canadian indoor nationals in wake of worlds
Kamloops had an up-and-down experience as host of the 2010 World Masters Indoor Championships. Now they’re planning a smaller shindig: Canadian masters indoor nationals. Just a two-day affair—March 19-20, 2011. This meet takes place a couple weeks after USATF masters indoor nationals. The U.S. meet will be March 4-6 in the Albuquerque Convention Center—at close to a mile high elevation in New Mexico.

W90 superstar Olga Kotelko will probably be at Kamloops. She'll also be featured in the New York Times Magazine in a couple weeks, my sources say.
Here’s the press release announcing the gig:
Kamloops to host the 2011 Canadian Masters
Kamloops, B.C. – The City of Kamloops, in partnership with the Kamloops Track and Field Club and the Canadian Masters Athletic Association (CMAA), is pleased to announce that Kamloops will be hosting the Canadian Indoor Masters Athletic Championships at the Tournament Capital Centre from March 19th to 20th, 2011.
This national event is a direct spin-off of the World Masters Indoor Athletic Championships that were held in Kamloops from March 1st – 6th, 2010. The World Masters were highly successful, with over 1,500 athletes competing at the Tournament Capital Centre, bringing spectators and visitors to the city. Kamloops was also host to the Outdoor Canadian Masters Athletic Championships in 2009.
The successful history of Canada’s Tournament Capital as a host city for major sporting events makes Kamloops an ideal choice for the Canadian Masters, with world-class facilities, excellent amenities, accommodation and volunteers and a thriving community spirit.
“The Kamloops Track and Field Club looks forward to hosting another national competition for master-aged athletes here in Kamloops, where we have great expertise in meet organization, officials, and volunteers. This will be another great event to host and our community will embrace it,” Judy Armstrong, President of the Kamloops Track and Field Club and Competition Director for the event.
“After many years without a Canadian Masters Indoor Championships the Canadian Masters Athletic Association is very pleased that the Kamloops Track & Field Club will be reviving this event in 2011. With the amazing performance of Kamloops in hosting the 2010 World Masters Indoor Championships, we are confident that Kamloops will once again deliver a great event,” commented Paul Osland, President of CMAA.

I’m wondering, can we compete being American? I would be interested, because there are so few indoor pentathlons besides the usa nationals to do. Anyone have any insight or hints?
Yes, Chris, you can compete and they do medals just like we do with foreign competitors. I might add that the CMAA does a real nice job with medals. I may go myself as I live in Seattle.
Chris,
Additional pentathlons are listed below. Most of them are collegiate events with 42″ hurdles. However, I would venture to say that you can handle the higher barriers, and that you will give the youngsters all that they can handle & then some.
1. Kansas State Pentathlon – 12/10/10
