Kris Paaso lowers W45 American outdoor mile record to 5:02
SDSU meet director Rick Reaser writes:
The Masters Mile is a single event just for Masters. Masters are welcome to compete in the other open events, though we’re not able to support hurdle race distances other than 400m, 110m and 100m. We’ll let you throw with an non-NCAA implement — just let the official know so that can be annotated in the results.
A week earlier, San Diego Imperial County USATF is hosting its USATF Mile Road Race Championships March 20 at the Encinitas Mile.
From sub-4 miler and coach Paul Greer:
$400 in prize money is on the line.
The Masters Division will receive merchandise for each 5 year age group, and the Open Division (under 40) will share in the prize money.
The prize money breakdown for both men and women: 1st place = $200, 2nd = $125, and 3rd = $75… Good Luck!

Trivia question (for those old enough to know): who was Johnny Mathis and why is the meet named after him?
