Photos galore of San Sebastian world meet online
We’ve come a long way, baby. The first World Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships 30 years ago featured grainy black-and-white photos in the results book — which arrived perhaps a month or two after the fact. Now we got Net. And at least three shooters have posted their photos of San Sebastian worlds. Some are easy to access; others require (free) registration. Somewhere in there, you are pictured, I’ll bet.
Karla Del Grande, a world champ W50 sprinter, shared these two links with Yahoo Groups:
A sizable gallery at an Italian site is nicely designed.
And Canada’s Doug Smith offers yet another world meet gallery (he’s done several) at the Sony site.
But easily the most comprehensive and accessible is a Britain-based commercial site where you can see every meet image (albeit with an anti-piracy overlay.)
The weather, the emotions and the pomp are all on view at this site. The shooter apparently is one Lesley Richardson.
Just be ready to spend hours viewing this collection. Jolly good show!
