UC Santa Barbara plans a ‘meet the masters meet’
John Dagata, a track coach at UC Santa Barbara, sends news of an interesting meet — and concept — a “Meet the Masters Meet” set for Dec. 9. He writes: “There is a flyer attached to this email with all the details. . . This meet is intended for high school, collegiate, professional and master competitors. My vision for this meet is for all competitors young and old to learn from one another and enjoy the spirit of our sport. In doing so I personally invite everyone to come to our December Throws Fest which will now become the Meet The Masters Meet annually.”
John continues:
“There will be USATF officials on hand and this will be a sanctioned USATF track meet! UC Santa Barbara has recently finished our throwing facilities improvements which now have six shot put rings, two hammer rings, two discus rings and one javelin runway. I look forward to meeting everyone and putting on a great meet.
“If you have any questions please contact me via email at john.dagata@athletics.ucsb.edu or on my cell phone (805) 453-9084. I hope all of you are doing well and I look forward to seeing everyone on December 9.
