Alisa Harvey claims W40 mile record at Penn
Don’t blink when Alisa Harvey takes the track. At Penn, while masters sprinters and relayists dominated attention, Alisa doubled her fun by smashing the W40 American records in the 1500 and mile, competing against national-class open runners. This gives her at least a half-dozen middle-distance records for her debut W40 season. So reports Penn, via my masters friends:
Alisa Harvey (4:46.29) breaks the U.S. Masters record in the 40-44 age group. The previous mark of 4:54.0 was set by Laurie Binder in 1991. Harvey also set U.S. Masters record for the 1500 meter event, with a 4:26.49 time en route. The previous mark of 4:32.73 was set by Joan Nesbit in 2002.
1500 meter splits: Donahue 4:16.67; Hess 4:18.07; Kaltenbach 4:23.77; Urick 4:25.62; Stewart 4:25.69; Infeld 4:25.90; Scott 4:26.20; Harvey 4:26.49; Overton 4:27.37; Manzer 4:49.08

Alisa,
Once again, you amaze me. Keep up the good work.
Did you happen to see the Men’s Masters 4×400?
Sal Allah
Sal,
Don’t know if Alisa saw the 4×400 but all your masters track buddies did and once again Sal you ran a exceptional 400 . Coming from behind off the turn looked beautiful to all us 400 meter runners. Great run Sal! Now go after the 45-49 50.20 record that you just missed last year when you ran 50.24 We all know that if anyone can do it you are the one .

And by the way lets all give Francis Schiro a big applause for running his great anchor leg on the Sprintforce America’s 50 year old 4×4 team Francis ran 53.88 and is 53 years old. We all were there to see you Frank good job! Sometimes the older guy’s get missed and do not get the recognition that they deserve. But we who do apprieciate and know a strong 400 meter runner when he happens to come upon the track venue and exhibit his talent!!

Rich,
You’re exactly right! And thanks a million for your support. It’s something else when you can see it unfolding, yet you’re the one runnin’ it!
What memories we’ll have. And I am certainly going after the WR this year.
Schiro told me of his race soon after mine. That is certainly a wonderful time for him. I saw how bright he was speaking of it. If anyone deserves it he does.
Hope you and yours are doin’ exceptionally well.
Your friend,
Sal Allah
