Our photo gallery goes the distance — even if it’s just 400 meters

Latest photo gallery from nationals spotlights distances. Of course, I use that term loosely — since anything over 200 is a distance for me. So you’ll see some pentathletes, quarter-milers and racewalkers here. It’s all good. I’m in awe of anyone who circled the Sac State track. Among our fave shots: Kevin Forde in a prayerful pose (he took third in his 5K, which he blogged about.) Lisa Valle in her finishing kick. An official guarding an exhausted runner. (He’s not oblivious; he’s shielding her from other finishers.) And a stampede (below) in the men’s 1500.

Ken and Chris….TERRIFIC SHOTS. Wow! It was fun in the sun for me. I ran 4 individual races so I had to conserve each day. I had a total of almost 50 laps worth which included 2 relays on Sunday. 4 silver, 2 gold, BIG SMILE. Thanks for the coverage. Smartty

Ken, organizing the pictures into related galleries is a great idea. I really like it! It lets the story of the pictures flow from one to the next.

Nice shots! Competed in the 5k rw, 10k run, and the 10k rw on successive days. The 10k run was far too hot for me on Sat to do much other than survive it, but the others weren’t too bad. The shade for the road walk was heaven 🙂 A great time-the lap counting was a bit off at times (fairly predictable)for the 10k runs and there needs to be more shade umbrellas or somesuch for worlds, imo. Otherwise nice job!
